Happy 150th Birthday! Cato celebrates the 150th anniversary of the old stone schoolhouse this year. We hope you'll join us to pay tribute to the first and oldest school in Crawford County.
Friday, October 11th: Cato Kids' Day
Saturday, October 12: Annual Cato Tour:
- 9:30 - Music & Presentations (starting in the church and following in the schoolhouse)
- 11:45 - Lunch (ham & beans)
- 1:00 - Wagon rides

Registration is in the 100 year old Christian Church at 9:30. Ralph Carlson of Old Fuss & Feathers will be featured in the church. Next, everyone goes over to the 150 year old Cato school for presentations in the school by Anna Swank, Elizabeth Thompson and her husband, Jaime. - After the school - eat ham "n" beans cooked over an open fire - served with home made corn bread - also hot dogs - bottled water - pop, etc. - - drawing of the raffles for the quilt and then onto the wagons to go to historic places around Cato. 40 some living alumni of the Cato school have been invited.

On U.S. Highway 69 between Ft. Scott and Pittsburg, Kansas, turn west on 720 Avenue, one mile north of the Arcadia turn-off (or one mile south of the Bourbon County line). Go west for one mile, then turn north for 1/2 mile and then left one mile to Cato.
