Mon, Jan 18: Martin Luther King Holiday Celebration Event
Location at the Ellis Fine Arts Center Theater & Lobby
9:00am: Film Showing: Eyes on the Prize: American Civil Rights Years “ No Easy Walk” (1961-1963)-Albany, Georgia/ Birmingham, Alabama/ The March on Washington
10:30am: Film Showing: Eyes on the Prize: American Civil Rights Years “Mississippi: Is this America?” (1962-1964)-Medgar Evers/ “Mississippi Burning” Murders
12:00pm (Lunch and Learn) with premier showing of the Video Recordings of “ I Stand For” and “Dramatic Reading” followed by a Speaker Presentation. This will be scheduled for in person event with social distancing to be held in the Theater. Zoom will be back up.
Reception afterwards to follow the program. A Light Lunch and/or snacks with drink will be served to either sit at with social distances or to take home. Everyone can bring a lunch if choose to do so.
1:30pm: Film Showing: “Martin” A tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. by Gordon Parks. This is a ballet tribute to Dr. King written and directed by Gordon Parks.
