The Butterfly Weed Club of S.E. Kansas - Weekly Meeting
The Butterfly Weed Club of S.E. Kansas
Our Mission is first to restore habitat for, primarily, The Monarch Butterfly as well as other pollinating insects that are in decline or are endangered.
We mean to plant Milkweed, the exclusive host plant for the Monarch caterpillar, and other nectar-producing plants favored as a food source by the adult Monarch, by the thousands, and if we get enough help, by the millions.
We intend to introduce sich conservation efforts in all of Southeast Kansas as a neglected part of the Monarch Migration corridor lacking sufficient conservation effort, but we will begin in Bourbon County and carry on.
We are formin as a non-profit 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt organization that hopefully will eventfully grow to have branch clubs throughout SEK.
