    Responsibilities:

    Responsibilities
    Operates switchboard.
    1.1. Relays incoming calls and messages promptly, courteously, and efficiently.
    1.2. Places long distance calls for various departments within five minutes of request.
    1.3. Provides telephone numbers accurately.

    Operates paging systems.
    2.1. Operates visual, audible, and telephone paging systems to contact personnel and relay messages accurately.
    2.2. Keeps accurate record of doctors and personnel on call.
    2.3. Announces appropriate codes immediately upon notification.

    Performs admitting, outpatient registration, and cashier functions when Business Office is closed.
    3.1. Admits patients within (30) minutes.
    3.1.1. Elicits appropriate information from patient or family members as required for admission.
    3.1.2. Obtains appropriate insurance information.
    3.1.3. Collects appropriate charges.
    3.2. Respects patients in regard to the Patients' Bill of Rights.

    Responsible for monitoring equipment.
    4.1. Monitors the various alarm systems and notifies appropriate personnel within five minutes of the alarm.
    4.2. Maintains entrance security in Urgent Care Area.

    Complies with continuing education requirements.
    5.1. Assumes responsibility for continuing growth and education.
    5.2. Attends mandatory in-services as required by health center policy.
    5.3. Attends 75% of departmental meetings.

    Performs miscellaneous job functions as assigned. 

     

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Good communications skills, must be able to read and understand directions. Typing/computer skills essential.
