DESCRIPTION:On Friday night\, October 20th\, The Gary Thompson Trio\, based in Mound City at the 56J Productions Studio\, will be performing for the Friday Night Concert Series. The trio plays jazz arrangements of American Standard and American Pop numbers. \n\nTheir music ranges from covers of show tunes by the Gershwins to the music of Burt Bacharach and the Beatles\, as well as jazz versions of an occasional country or gospel song. \n\nThe group entertains in a variety of local and area settings\, including restaurants\, clubs\, receptions\, dinners and a wide range of private events. They recently provided music for the annual Linn County Republican Sunflower Dinner.\n\nThe trio is comprised of Suzanne Thompson on keyboard\, Gary Thompson on bass and Cheyenne Beisiegel on drums. All three trio members also are members of the Hemphill Family Band\, a well-known local group that primarily plays a wide range of country and gospel music.\n\nThe concert will be in Heritage Park at 7:00 PM on Friday night. Because of limited seating\, you are encouraged to bring your own lawn chairs. In case of cold or inclement weather\, the concert will be held in Common Grounds Coffee Shop.
