DESCRIPTION:FSHS Home Football Game\n\n\n\nPrior to the game\, Fort Scott USD-234 is being award a grant check in the amount of $10\,000 through America's Farmers Grow Rural Education\, a program that helps farmers support their local rural public school districts.\n\nSince 2011\, this Monsanto Fund program has given over 9 million dollars to rural school districts to enhance math and science education.\n\nThanks to our farmer nominations and a top-notch application\, Fort Scott will be able to us this grant to have the necessary equipment utilizing technology to support science in the classroom as well as getting non-fiction science reading materials for students to read. \n\n\n\nAdditional Background for Monsanto:\n\n	America's Farmers Grow Rural Education offers farmers the opportunity to nominate the rural public school districts to compete for a merit-based grant of $10\,000 and $25\,000\n	The program was established in 2011 and awards a total of $2.3 Million in grants to schools annually.\n	After a school district receives its first nomination\, the Monsanto Fund will notify them and encourage them to design a project for the grant that enhances math and/or science education in their district. School districts are responsible for submitting a grant application.\n	Once all of the school district applications are submitted\, a panel of math and science teacher from ineligible counties reviews each application and selects finalists. An advisory council composed of farmer-leaders then reviews and selects the winning grant applications from a pool of finalists. Grant applications are judged based on the merit of the application\, need and community support.
