SUMMARY:Rotary Dancing with our Stars
DESCRIPTION:8th annual event that raises money for Rotary and for area charities. Dance teams compete for prizes and to raise money.\n\n\n\nThe Fort Scott Rotary Club presents the 2018 edition of "Dancing With Our Stars" with a theme of Dance Makes the World Go Around!\n\n\n\nSaturday\, February 17th\, 7pm at the Ellis Fine Arts Center on the campus of FSCC\n\n\n\nTickets go on sale at the Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce:\n\nMonday\, January 29th for dancers to purchase for friends & family.\n\nThursday\, February 1st for the general public to purchase.\n\n$10 per ticket\, $15 for VIP section (all tickets are reserved seating)\n\n\n\nDancers include:\n\nOpening act by Kenna Miles\n\nSpecial performance by Greg Lorenz\n\nCompeting teams performing:\n\nCobalt MedPlans (charity Inclusive Playground)\n\nFort Scott Community College (charity BB County CASA)\n\nFort Scott High School Thespians (charity FSHS Thespians)\n\nFriends of the Fort (charity Friends of the Fort)\n\nLandmark National Bank (charity Bourbon County 4-H Council)\n\nMercy Hospital Fort Scott (charity Mercy Foundation)\n\nSmallville CrossFit (charity Care to Share)\n\nTwister Trailer (charity BEACON)\n\n\n\nEach team dances for a charity and during intermission attendees can vote for their favorite team by donating to the charity or multiple charities of their choice.\n\n\n\nEmcees for the event will be FSHS students Isabella Provence and Alex Gorman\n\n\n\nAwards are presented at the end of the evening.\n\n\n\nFor more information contact Janet Braun at (620) 223-2274 or Lindsay Madison at the Chamber (620) 223-3566.\n\n\n\nRotary funds multiple service projects in the community throughout the year in addition to benches and trash cans at local parks.
