The Fort Scott Fire Department (FSFD) has been proudly serving the community since 1891.

The department consists of:

1 Chief
1 Deputy Chief
12 Full-time Members
6 Reserve Firefighters

Services
FSFD serves the community as first responders to fires, public safety, medical emergencies, and disasters. FSFD protects the lives and property of Fort Scott residents and visitors. The department advances public safety through its fire prevention programs. Fort Scott Fire Department provides extrication services to the entire County by responding to all wrecks throughout the county that possibly could use extrication.
