The purpose and goal of the Codes Department is to enforce all codes, ordinances, and regulations adopted by the governing authority of the City of Fort Scott in an effort to ensure the safety of all properties and structures, develop and maintain the aesthetic value of residential and commercial properties, to establish a standard of property maintenance for all properties, and to enhance the quality of life for all citizens, residents, visitors, and business owners.
