    About Us

The Molly Foster Berry Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) is a nonprofit service organization dedicated to historic preservation, education, patriotism, and honoring the men and women who achieved American independence. Organized in Fort Scott on October 19, 1911, the chapter has proudly served the community for more than 114 years.

Throughout its history, the chapter has played an important role in preserving Fort Scott's rich heritage. Members helped organize the local YMCA and Red Cross Chapter, sponsored the Bourbon County Historical Society, supported the vision and construction of Memorial Hall, preserved the historic Fort Blair Block House, placed historic markers throughout the community, and contributed to the expansion of Fort Scott National Cemetery. Today, members continue this legacy by volunteering thousands of hours each year in support of veterans, genealogy and historical research, Meals on Wheels, hospital auxiliaries, and numerous community service projects.

The Molly Foster Berry Chapter welcomes women who can document lineal descent from an individual who supported the cause of American independence during the Revolutionary War. The chapter also welcomes those interested in learning more about DAR membership and its mission of service, education, and patriotism.

Chapter meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month, with meetings at 12:00 p.m. in odd-numbered months and 5:00 p.m. in even-numbered months. Prospective members are encouraged to attend and learn more about the organization and its commitment to preserving
