Brownfields Economic Revitalization Workshop on June 8, 2017
The Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) and the Kansas State University Technical Assistance to Brownfields (KSU TAB) program invite you to attend “Brownfields Tools for Redevelopment”, a Kansas Brownfields Program Workshop being held on June 8, 2017, at the Western Building, 110 S. Main Street, Fort Scott, Kansas. The workshop is designed to assist communities in identifying Brownfields properties and the resources and opportunities available to resolve environmental and redevelopment issues often associated with Brownfields.
Registration is free and lunch will be provided so mark your calendars and plan to come join us in Fort Scott on June 8.

What are Brownfields? A Brownfields site is real property of which the expansion, redevelopment, or reuse may be complicated by contamination or perceived contamination on the property. Reuse and redevelopment of abandoned, idled, or underutilized properties (a.k.a. brownfields) is both a challenge and an opportunity. Putting these sites back into productive use can serve as a catalyst for local economic revitalization.
Who Should Attend? Previous workshop attendees include local and regional government, economic and community development staff, community grant writers, community groups, real estate developers, commercial real estate brokers, lenders, regional economic development agencies, consultants, and others interested in resources for local redevelopment.
