The Fort Scott Area Chamber of Commerce announces the 3rd Annual Christmas on the Bricks Festival will take place Thursday, December 4th through Sunday, December 7th in the Downtown Historic District.
The Christmas on the Bricks Festival began in 2023 as a holiday event for the community and for visitors to attend from surrounding areas. The festival now features a Synthetic Ice-Skating Rink under the Gathering Square Pavilion. The festival will kick off Thursday evening with the Annual Christmas Parade, “Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree” and the lighting of the Mayor’s Christmas Tree followed by Pictures with Santa in front of the tree. The Holiday Market Booths will also be open Thursday from 5 to 10pm as well as a Kettle Corn booth by the Mayor’s Tree.
The festival continues Friday through Sunday with a schedule packed full of activities for all ages and interests which may be found online at fortscott.com on the Christmas on the Bricks tab. The website includes links to pre-register for some of the events that require advance registration. Horse-drawn carriage rides return this year, along with the Fort Scott National Historic Site’s Annual Candlelight Tours of the Fort. The weekend includes The Artificers 9th Annual Christmas Showcase, Christmas Candy Making, Firepits w/S’mores on Skubitz Plaza, Photos with the Grinch and Santa, Letters to Santa, Floral Centerpiece-making Class, Holiday Wreath-making Class, Christmas Canvas Painting Party, Live Nativity Scenes, Beer and Bourbon Tastings, stores open late for shopping, and much more.
The Chamber encourages everyone to follow the Facebook page Fort Scott Christmas on the Bricks for more information and updates in addition to fortscott.com and make plans to be Downtown December 4th through the 7th. Printed schedules may soon be picked up at the Chamber or Downtown businesses. Contact the Chamber for more information at 620-223-3566.
