Distribution Center Manager - KEY Apparel

Key Apparel is a clothing company located in Ft. Scott, KS, focused on creating high quality work, industrial and outdoor related apparel.  KEY is searching for a Distribution Center Manager to supervise warehouse employees and oversee daily operations.

Successful Candidate Attributes:
Monitors all aspects of the day-to-day warehouse operations insuring timely delivery of product to customers.  You will be responsible for keeping the warehouse clean and organized by leading a team of warehouse employees, as well as adhering to current policies and procedures and making recommendations for areas that may need improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily workflow of the distribution team.
• Manage warehouse employees and supervisors.
• Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
• Handle discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
• Manage the Company’s freight programs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Schedules pickup, delivery, and distribution of products and materials.
• Forecasts peak delivery periods and issues appropriate work assignments.
• Provides shipping instructions and routing information; confirms and coordinates delivery times and locations.
• Responds to orders efficiently so that products are delivered in a timely and accurate manner.
• Addresses logistical problems and furnishes solutions to these issues.
• Meets with other managers to confer about products, shipping times, and distribution issues, among many other concerns.
• Establishes warehouse safety and security programs and training activities.
• Manages facility maintenance to ensure safe and orderly facility.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to manage and coordinate a variety of shipping methods.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Five years of related management experience required

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse the distribution and storage facility regularly
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
