Weaving 101 at the Artificers

Weaving 101 (students choose fiber and color)

Using Rigid Heddle looms, students will create a cotton table runner or an alpaca scarf. Looms will be pre-warped and ready to weave. Students will gain a basic understanding of weaving including maintaining consistent selvedges, splicing, changing color and finishing. We will discuss design options including plaid, clasped weft and determining stripe widths. 4 hours, 4-6 students, $60 per student for Cotton, $75 per student for Alpaca.
